Every now & again, I like to get away. Sometimes living in the city can be a little overbearing & you don’t realize it until you leave. My mini escape was to our nation’s capital–Washington, D.C. to see my college roomie–Jose.
I’ve been to D.C. dozens of times before, so the normal touristy things were definitely spared for this trip. I did get a chance to take some awesome pics c/o of trusty iPhone & the Camera Plus app.
This was the view at a The Sky Bar on a hotel’s rooftop near Jose’s apartment. It was soooo lovely up there, I didn’t want to leave. I tell ya, give me a drink & a rooftop & I’m one happy camper!
My outfit was very easy, breezy–I paired a pair of grey, scrunch topped Avenue shorts ($6.00) with a stiped assymetrical top that I got from Rainbow over five years ago. I am so sure this shirt was nothing over $10.
At my attempt to not match so much, I paired the grey shorts with a purple belt & sandals because purple coordinates really well with red. I wore a grey necklace, one silver stud & one red feather (H&M $3.95) & some snakeskin sunglasses with clear lenses (Harlem Street Vendor $5).
Most of these photos were taking in Dupont Circle. D.C. boasts some of the best scenery for random photo shoots. I’m not the biggest D.C. fan, but I do love when I visit & am able to catch places that aren’t riddled with tourists!
