Mario, the 24-year-old R&B crooner has been criminally charged with second degree assault after an alleged altercation with his mother. Police responded to an apartment building in Fells Point, Maryland on Friday, Shawntia Hardaway told them that Mario pushed her. Apparently, this isn’t the first time Mario has been physical with his mother. There are reports stating Hardaway’s complaints about a head ache after allegedly being pushed into a wall by Mario on Monday. Hardaway even stated that she feared for her life. Upon arriving, Police witnessed broken glass, a damaged china cabinet and a hole in her door.
“Anyone who has waged the battle to save loved ones from the forces of drugs knows the irrational behavior that almost always accompanies their actions,” said Hassan Murphy, Mario’s Baltimore attorney, on Saturday. “Despite the allegations, Mario remains committed to supporting his mother.” (CNN)
You may remember, three years ago, Mario let viewers into his personal life with his award-winning documentary , “I Won’t Love You To Death: The Story of Mario and His Mom.” It chronicled the fight his mother has suffered through with her heroin addiction.
Mario was released on a $50,000 bond.
