Three Way: Stung By a Yellow Jacket

Last year, I got my first piece from Re/Dress NYC. It was a vintage Member’s Only Jacket. It’s yellow, suede and adorable. It was definitely something I couldn’t leave the store without, especially with its $10 price tag and the leather details! It’s been an entire year and I am still confused as to how to wear this jacket, The shape, texture and color all make it unique, but tough to pair. Here’s three ways I dressed the jacket. I need all the feedback I can get because I stll am a little lost as to how to style this jacket.

Option 1:

I paired the jacket with a cool printed dress from Rainbow for $5. The dress had the mustard yellow in it, so I thought it would be a good fit with the jacket.

I chose my go-to over-the-knee boots from Avenue ($56) with my grey tights, also from Avenue (2 for $12). I’m not too sure how I feel about the silhouette, but I love the colors together.

Option 2:

I wanted a sexier look, so I paired the jacket with some black. This color is automatically classy, sexy and sophisticated. It should be a go-to color when you’re standing in your closet with a loss of what to wear.

I got this black skirt from Re/Dress NYC by way of Forever 21. I’ve been wanting a form-fitted black skirt for the longest! This one has rouching on the sides. I love it. It set me back $7. The white button-up shirt with the black trim was from Rainbow for $7. I wanted some sophistication, so I chose herringbone stockings from Avenue and suede booties to mirror the suede of the jacket.

Option 3:

I wanted to mix elements of fun, sex appeal and edge. I used my striped shirt that I’ve had for years. I’m not sure how much it was, but I believe it’s from Pay/Half. I always wear a tank under it and this time, I thought, why not show a little skin?

I love chic pants and these harem pants don’t give you the drop crotch action, which is why I love them so. They are from Avenue for $10. I finished off the look with Mary Janes from Avenue.

Three different looks, one jacket. Which look is your fave? How would you style this member’s only mustard yellow jacket?

  1. I personally LOVE option 2. I think it looks sexy and classy. It is definitely how I would wear the jacket — plus I love pairing stark black and white with a pop of color!I love that you are brave enough for Option 3. I don't think I have quiiite the attitude necessary to pull that off, but you look FABULOUS! (as usual!) Also, I LOVE your curly hairstyle in the pics of Option 3! It compliments your beautiful smile 🙂
