Essence Music Festival & What I’ve Worn…So Far In iPhone Photos

This is my first year attending the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans and I have to say, this is the type of event that I could see myself attending on a yearly basis. I’m all about usic, culture and just a weekend of debauchery that reminds you that you have a ratchet side.

I wanted to stunt on them obviously, but with the sight-seeing, drinking and dancing I had planned, I knew I needed to go for comfort, but sass all the same. Here’s a few of the outfits I’ve been rocking this weekend.

I love my H&M tiered skirt that I got by way of Re/Dress–the former plus size vintage shop in Brooklyn. They’re closed now, but can still be accessed online.

This red jumpsuit is an easy, breezy favorite. I just slip it on and I’m good to go. This is also an easy outfit to wear with flat sandals and we all know I’m about that life.

I love the hi-lo trend. I saw it first in wedding dresses when I was working in the bridal industry. Now that it’s become a trend in most spring and summer dresses, I’m a happy camper. I got this leopard one from Forever 21+. I love the flow of it.Obviously, I’m weak for leopard. I wanted to rock a bikini for the longest time and I finally found the perfect rouched bottom from Torrid but had the hardest time finding a top. I still have the rest of the summer, but I heard Victoria’s Secret is the place to go. I will def try them. This top is actually a leopard bra from Lane Bryant. I get clever in a clutch.

Stay tuned for more fun outfits from the Essence Music Festival!
