This could be considered a heavy statement, but think about it–we’re more obsessed with seeing what she’s going to wear next or what hair color and cut she’s going to rock more than we’re anticipating her next single or album.

So now that the “Where Have You Been” singer is teaming up with British brand, River Island to create a capsule collection set to hit racks/shelves by Spring 2013. Ri ri had this to say about collaborating with River Island:

“I’ve been wanting to design my own collection for some time. River Island is the perfect partner for me to collaborate with and working with a British, family run business also really appealed to me. I find London really inspiring and River Island loves to have fun with clothes. I’m looking forward to working with them and creating something really special.”

Here’s five reasons you should want to wear Rihanna’s new clothing line:
1. Trendsetter
Rihanna’s all about setting the tone for whatever is hot. She snipped her hair back in 2007 and since then, girls have been chopping their tresses to match Rihanna’s daring looks. It’s obvious she’s got her hand on the pulse of what’s cutting edge. Fashion is fickle and just as quick as something is in style, it’s out. Rihanna will keep you on trend.
2. Stop Trying So Hard
If it’s one thing Rihanna does well it’s dress as if she doesn’t give a…you know the rest. Rihanna’s carefree attitude always comes out via Twitter, Instagram and her music. Rihanna’s clothing line will allow her devoted Navy to dress like the Roc Nation Princess without trying too hard.
