Feeling Funky & Fresh In GabiFresh’s Nala Midkini [REVIEW]

I love swimsuits! And just because I am plus size doesn’t mean that I have to limit myself to one pieces, clearly. Gabi Gregg of GabiFresh.com is one of the plus size pioneers behind making the “fatkini” a thing in the plus community. She not only embraces her size, but she encourages others to join her by teaming up with Swimsuits4All to create a plus size two piece experience that is flirty, bright and risk-taking.

The result is her incredible Nala midikini that I just had to get my hands on as soon as I spotted it. The funky colors, the risqué design are enough to make me swoon! I was nervous about the slits on the side, but as I stared at Gabi’s photos, I just shrugged and said, even if my rolls hang out the side, I’m gonna look fly no matter what.

But luckily, that didn’t happen. Those slits are strategically placed on the side to help cover your rolls, but also expose juuuuust enough. The only thing I wasn’t in love with about the suit was the top. You have the opportunity to order the top and the bottom separately, which I love because I am a lot bigger on the bottom that I am up top.

I ordered an 18 for the top and a 22 for the bottom. The bottoms fit great! But the top–that suck is a bit annoying. The underwire doesn’t sit under my breasts and lift me up in a way that I prefer. I am considering exchanging it, to opt for bigger cups, but I think that would be too big in my back. So I think the solution is to get it tailored.

Check out my shoot with Gabi’s fierce suit in Jamaica!
